Terms & Conditions

Payment for sessions is required in advance, at time of booking.

Clinical Framework

All sessions last for approximately 50 minutes and take place individually.

For effective therapy, clients are required to attend regular weekly sessions.

7 Swans Therapy does not provide a crisis service.

7 Swans Therapy is unable to provide legal documentation or any reporting following nor during therapy.

Work will be contracted and the contract agreed on attendance to your first session. Your counsellor reserves the right to discontinue therapy at their clinical discretion.

7 Swans Therapy offers private and confidential counselling support. For online sessions you will need access to a reliable broadband connection, laptop or desktop and a confidential space where you won't be overheard.

Information provided is not shared or discussed with anyone outside of the company, other than in clinical supervision or if someone is considered to be at risk.

In instances where someone, particularly a child, is considered at risk of harm from themselves or others, this confidentially guideline would be lifted and a disclosure may be necessary.

Clients attending teletherapy agree to arrange sessions in confidential settings, where they will not be overheard or interrupted.

In light of all our attempts to avoid the spread of the Covid-19 and other viruses, sessions are available online via video link.

It is important that clients are resilient enough to engage in relationship counselling and all sessions, particularly an initial session, will include routine risk assessment. As relationship counselling can be challenging, it is important that clients are resilient enough to engage in the process and in some instances ongoing counselling is not recommended.

It may be appropriate to offer a referral to alternative mental health professionals in instances where assessments bring up concerns about a client’s wellbeing.

Where clients are affected by or responsible for behaviours that are considered violent or abusive, it would not always be considered safe to engage in relationship therapy.

Your counsellor has the right to cease counselling, particularly if the conduct of a client or client material is considered inappropriate.

Initial sessions are an opportunity for assessment, to explore suitability for future sessions.

Any information provided will be stored confidentially and securely.

It will not be possible to engage in therapy unless clients are able to attend regular sessions in suitable confidential settings for therapy.

Your counsellor reserves the right to refuse relationship counselling, or bring sessions to a close, if it is felt that what is needed sits outside the limits of their competency or would be unbeneficial or not constructive.

Being on time for an appointment is important as very often there will be no room for additional time given the arrangements with other clients.

Payment for sessions is required in advance, at time of booking. Appointment arrangements are only confirmed once payment has been received. 7 Swans Therapy is a business name, Isobel Cheshire is your counsellor who works as a sole trader. You will not be charged VAT. Discounted block-booked sessions are payable via bank transfer.

Block-booked discounted rate payments are non-refundable but they are transferable to alternative dates if attendance is difficult.

There is a 48 hour notice requirement for non-attendance. All sessions can be moved without charge but payment will not be reimbursed if a notice of cancellation is not received prior to an appointment.
